Why clients across Canada choose us

Three things you won't find at every immigration firm.

01

Posted flat fees

No hourly billing. No surprises. Inland spousal sponsorship: $3,800. Outland: $4,200. Common-law: $3,800–$4,200. You see exactly what you'll pay before you commit — in writing.

02

Federal-only path

Most Canadian provinces process spousal sponsorship through IRCC alone — no provincial step, no MIFI queue, no quota. As a Quebec lawyer who handles the dual-track Quebec/federal process every day, federal-only files are what I do faster than anyone.

03

Personally handled, bilingual

I handle your file personally — not a junior, not a paralegal, not a consultant. Communication in English or French. Responses typically within hours. Your file is never lost in a large firm's pipeline.

How it works

Three steps. Fully remote. No travel to Montreal required.

01

Free 15-minute consultation

We discuss your situation by phone or video. No commitment. If we're not the right fit for your file, I'll tell you directly and recommend someone who is.

02

Engagement and document collection

If we proceed, you receive a written engagement letter with the flat fee in writing and access to a secure portal for document upload. Most files require 4–6 weeks of preparation.

03

Submission and follow-through

I prepare and submit your complete application to IRCC, handle all correspondence, and coordinate your COPR delivery. Current processing time: approximately 10–11 months from the US, 12–16 months inland Canada.

About your lawyer

Two decades. Thousands of families reunited.

Me Gad Pariente has practiced Canadian immigration law since 1997 as a member of the Barreau du Québec. His Montreal-based practice has historically focused on the most complex track in Canadian immigration: Quebec's dual federal-provincial spousal sponsorship process, which requires navigating both IRCC and MIFI simultaneously.

For clients across Canada outside Quebec, the federal-only path is substantially simpler — no provincial step, no MIFI queue, no second set of forms. As a lawyer who handles the harder Quebec-federal version every day, federal-only files are what we do faster, with fewer surprises, and at lower cost than firms that specialize only in federal practice.

The practice serves clients in English and French throughout the entire process — engagement letters, document review, IRCC correspondence, and personal communication.

Common questions

Before you reach out.

Yes. Federal immigration matters (IRCC, IRB, CBSA) are within the jurisdiction of all Canadian-licensed lawyers regardless of which province they practice in. As a member of the Barreau du Québec since 1997, I can represent clients located anywhere in Canada on federal sponsorship matters. The entire process is conducted remotely — by video, phone, email, and secure document portal.
Inland sponsorship is for couples where the foreign spouse is already physically in Canada (typically on a visitor, work, or study visa). It includes the option for an open work permit during processing. Outland sponsorship is for couples where the foreign spouse is outside Canada or wants to keep that option open during processing. Outland is generally faster but the foreign spouse may not be in Canada during processing. We'll recommend the right path during your free consultation.
The flat fee covers all legal work: application preparation, evidence strategy, all IRCC correspondence, and follow-up through to COPR. What's separate: IRCC government processing fees (set by IRCC, currently approximately $1,205 for a spousal sponsorship), biometrics, medical exam costs, certified translations of foreign-language documents, and courier disbursements. These are billed at exact cost — no markup. Engagement letter with full scope is provided in writing before any work begins.
IRCC processing times vary by visa office. Current ranges: outland from the US, approximately 10–11 months; inland Canada, 12–16 months. Other visa offices vary. We provide a realistic timeline at your consultation based on the specific visa office that will handle your file.
We accept refusal reconsiderations and Immigration Appeal Division (IAD) appeals as a separate service. These cases are billed hourly at $300/hour with a $3,500 minimum retainer. Many refusals are reversible with the right legal arguments — we'll review your refusal letter at no charge before quoting.
Oui. The entire practice is fully bilingual French and English. Engagement letters, document review, IRCC correspondence, and personal communication are available in both languages, throughout the entire process. Visit the French version of this site at /fr or specify your language preference when scheduling.
Yes. The initial 15-minute consultation is free and carries no obligation. We use it to understand your situation, confirm we're the right fit for your file, and give you a clear sense of process and cost. If we proceed, you receive a written engagement letter; if not, you've lost nothing.
